Harassment, intimidation, and bullying refer to any intentional written, verbal, or physical act that causes harm, fear, or distress to another person. Bullying is generally a repeated pattern of behavior, not a one-time incident, and may involve an imbalance of power. These actions can be motivated by characteristics such as race, gender, religion, disability, or other personal attributes. HIB can interfere with a person’s education or work environment and create a hostile or unsafe atmosphere. All reports are taken seriously and will be handled with care and confidentiality.
